Snow Plowing – State Statues

Nicola Shipman

Please remember when clearing snow from your driveway or private road, DO NOT deposit snow onto Town or State maintained roadways.

Plowing snow onto or across State or Town Roadways is illegal.

Not only is it illegal, but it can cause dangerous driving conditions.

Snow plowed, blown by snowblower, or shoveled into a roadway, can cause motorists to crash. When driving on an otherwise clear road, loose snow can pull a motor vehicle into a ditch or into the oncoming lane. If the snow has become compacted or frozen, it can create a speed bump which can damage passing vehicles, including our Town Plow Trucks.
