The ACO’s main responsibility is to assist the Town Clerk and Selectboard with enforcement of the Town’s Animal Control Ordinance. This ordinance addresses licensing, registration, and confinement of dogs and wolf-hybrids. The ACO can respond to complaints about stray dogs, excessive barking, dog bites or aggressive dogs.

The Animal Control Officer may also respond to complaints concerning other animals running-at-large or causing a nuisance. The ACO will coordinate response with the Town Health Officer and/or area Veterinarians and Fish & Game personnel as-needed.
